How long has it been?
I was writing an email just a few minutes ago, and I came to a strange realization. I’ve been programming longer than any other hobby of mine.
The hobby that comes in second is playing the piano. I started playing the piano when I was in 4th grade, but I was programming some interesting stuff in HyperCard back in 1st grade.
I’m not sure what to think of it. It’s mildly amusing to think that I’ve been doing what I’m getting paid to do now ever since I was in 1st grade.
What about everyone else? How does programming rank up against the other hobbies in terms of longevity?
